<description>Great post Julia! I&#039;ll have to check out the Beer Lunches. Sounds like a great idea. I love trying new types of beer so I&#039;ll have to get along to some of these events. I&#039;m a fan of the Burleigh Big Head beers myself.

We checked out the German Club a couple of weeks ago and found a nice beer called the Erdinger there. I was reminded when I saw the bottle of Schofferhoffer that you mentioned above as I thought I saw it there as well.

Anyway, thanks for the great info :) Love the site.

		<description>What a fantastic post.

Like you, I have a personal quest to taste the unusual in the brewing world. This is as much born out of a desire to taste something new, weird and wonderful as it is to support those brave souls who are setting out to challenge the mas produced fizz we see in so many bars.

I&#039;m not just bagging the big boys here, I agree that a nice XXXX bitter or a Goldie has its place.

There&#039;s something artisanal about clamping your laughing gear around a lovely Weiss bier or a limited run dark ale. My favourite beer of the moment is the White Rabbit Dark Ale.....boy that gets me salivating.

I really need to get along to one of Matt&#039;s sessions. I&#039;ve tried enticing some friends along, but they&#039;re too tight.....so like some of these craft brewers....I may just have to go it alone.

Excellent piece.....Cheers
